Icynene was established in 1986 to develop and market a foam insulation that would outperform the existing insulation products and become a leading Green product in the construction industry.

The product, The Icynene Insulation System®, is a water-blown, spray-in-place light-density expanding foam that is Healthier, Quieter, More Energy Efficient® than competing insulation products, and which has been approved as environmentally responsible by the Envirodesic Certification Program. It is a fully-integrated insulation system that completely seals the building envelope and allows control of air movement and moisture within the walls. It is used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications using all types of construction materials, from wood to steel to masonry or concrete. Notable projects that have featured Icynene® include: ALA Health House®, NextGen Homes, model remodel, EarthCraft House®, Bob Vila's dotCOM dreamHOME, and The New American Home®.
