Lumitrol provides design/build services for school and communty theatre stages, video studios, and dramatic arts classrooms. Products include dimmers, remote controls, lights, drapes and track systems and lighting pipe grids. Also sells modular architectural dimmer systems for cinemas, boardrooms, churches, assembly areas, as well as intercom systems for theatre use. Affiliate company, Whitehead Engineering Services provides electrical engineering, lighting design, facility evaluation, safety inspections and school staff training seminars. Owner Bruce Whitehead P.Eng. has been designing stage lighting and dimming systems and stage layouts since 1966 and was formerly product manager for the dimmer division of Ward Leonard of Canada (Scarborough). He is involved developing safety standards and safety guidelines for the film, television and theatre industries, for CSA, Ontario Hydro, Ontario Ministry of Labour, as well as with the Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology, Society of Television Lighting Directors (Canada) and other technical associations.
