The “500 Series” under-vehicle surveillance system shall consist of color, high-resolution, 4, 6
or 8-imaging sensor package. System may comprise from two to four modules; each having two
imaging sensors and four high-intensity white LED’s. The above-ground (AG) system shall add four
ramps per module along with an end piece for cable exit protection.
An included system control unit shall interface with an included image control unit to
accommodate specific installation requirements. The standard configuration of the system shall allow
the digital recording and playback of up to 10 cameras: four to eight cameras supplied as part of the
under-vehicle surveillance system, and an additional two cameras not included with the system which
may be used for driver imaging, license plate recording, etc. An integrated Automatic License Plate
Reader (ALPR) is an available option. An additional six cameras may be added with simple system
modifications to provide enhanced visual monitoring capabilities.
Display shall be a 19-inch or larger high-resolution LCD monitor. A high-brightness monitor shall
be supplied to enable use in a sunlit guard station. Desk mounting shall be standard; ceiling mounting
is optional. Touch Screen option is also available. Larger monitors can be supported if requested.
System shall come standard with a 15-meter cable set and shall be designed to readily
accommodate cable lengths of up to 1,000 feet.
An integrated air-powered lens cleaning system shall be incorporated to remove dust, dirt,
debris and water from the camera and light lenses. Mechanical systems with wipers or pop-up nozzles
are not acceptable. Acceptable solutions shall include the patented Air Wash™ lens cleaning system
from VIT with special vortex air nozzle design and Tri-Blast™ cleaning which allows the use of small
low-current-draw air compressors. Such a compressor shall be supplied as part of the system package
(U.S. systems only).
System shall come complete with all components for operation and installation including air
compressor (U.S. system) and mounting hardware kit (AG system). System shall be engineered to
operate on standard 15-amp electrical service. To facilitate domestic and world-wide operation, system
shall operate from 95-265 volts, 50-60 Hz (except air compressor). The system shall be available as
above or below ground (installed) and shall be load rated for a 100,000-pound wheeled vehicle.
Under-vehicle lighting shall be high-intensity white LED’s, rated at up to 100,000 hours. Lights
and imaging sensors shall be IP-68 rated, with lifetime guaranteed scratchproof lens covers and may
be used in a condensing environment. Lighting and imaging sensors shall be field replaceable.
AG-500 dimensions:
Maximum height-2.5 inches; width-10.5 inches (base module) 51 inches
with ramps; length-96 inches. The four modules are 24 inches long each and the end pieces add 20
inches.
BG-500 dimensions:
Height-2.5 inches; width-10.5 inches; length-96 inches. For flush surface
mount installation, a slightly oversize trench with drainage must be provided.
Portable ATA-rated carrying cases shall be optionally available. Warranty shall be 1-year, parts
and labor (3-years monitor). Unit shall be the Und-Aware™ AG-500 above ground (with ramps) or BG-
500 flush-mount installed (without ramps).
