Original Mission Tile, registered trademark of Mosaicos de Diseno, is a hand-crafted, custom floor and wall tile, produced in our own facilities located in San Luis Potosi, Mexico since the latest 1800s by four generations of the same family. The original fabrication method was developed in the 18th century in Italy using various natural colors of marble dust and Portland cement. This extremely durable technique of tile production eventually spread throughout Europe and North Africa, with each country adding design influence to create distinctive cultural styles.

Original Mission Tile continues this tile tradition, producing a wide variety of beautiful designs and colors using the finest marble dust, color pigments and Portland cement. The custom colored surface layer is 0.16" in thick, giving the tile a tremendous surface life, able to withstand years of foot traffic and weather conditions.

Our tiles are hydraulically pressed to increase its density and strength and then cured for 24 hours under water for extra hardness. The 5/8" in thickness of these tiles makes them compatible as inlays or details combined with other materials. They are available in shapes of 12"x12", 8"x8", 6"x6", 4"x4", 3"x3", 4"x8" & 5"x8".

Many of our original floors are still in use today, whether commercial or residential, indoors or out-doors. Original Mission Tile's ornate and colorful designs are a perfect compliment to any place: such as walls, counters, pools and fountains, in both indoors or out-doors. Endless color and pattern combinations can be chosen to match any desired design and decor.

Our Color palette offers over 40 different colors; you may also create your own signature by customizing them to your own color specifications or to restore any antique cement tile. The flexibility of these tiles can be used to recreate a traditional or contemporary style.
