Skuttle Tight ST-100 was developed to fix a problem in most houses through out the US. Most attic access are not insulated very well and although the contractor tries there best, once someone enters the attic access the insulation and seal are most likely compromised. We’ve developed Skuttle Tight to fix that problem.

First off, with Skuttle Tight the R-40 insulation is glued directly to the door. This ensures that the insulation is always on the door no matter how many times or who opens the door. No need to worry about the fiberglass insulation used on most attic hatches “falling” back into place.

Secondly we have also incorporated a built in gasket. The gasket will seal the door to frame every time it’s closed. There is no need to caulk the hatch shut. You can access the attic without any tools or supplies.

Third and this is one of Skuttle Tight’s best benefits. When taped and drywall compounded into a new house it’s virtually invisible. The only thing you’ll see is a 1/8” line around the door. No more need to “hide” the attic access in a closet.

Skuttle Tight can be used in new construction as well as retro fit. If you need to retro fit you can put casing over the taping flange. This method makes it more noticeable but the benefits far out way the look.
