Anti-Terrorism! Anti-Drug! Force Protection! | Jul 20, 2005 |
Vehicle Inspection Technologies (VIT) developed their unique Und-aware(TM) product line to fulfill a pressing need for a
reliable, high-quality, Under-Vehicle-Surveillance-System (UVSS). A specific request was initiated by one of our largest US
government customer to develop a product that did not have the shortcomings of the existing ones. VIT stood up to the
challenged task; and with ingenuity and engineering marvel designed a UVSS that not only satisfied the desired
requirements and attributes but exceeded expectations of quality and performance. Resultantly, the Und-awareTM systems
are now installed and operationally deployed by our increasingly satisfied and happy customers.

Key attributes of UVSS as requested by our customers were:
1. Color: It was identified that color was an essential criterion for identifying and discerning objects.
We see in color and our observation is naturally geared for colored inputs. Color is inherent to the human recognition
system. You need color camera to give you color pictures! --- Dont get carried away with the marketing gimmick of color
Monitor (as many advertise). There is a big difference.
2. Works in all weather conditions: Catering for all weather was also identified as an area of concern.
AirWash has a patent for its very unique no-moving-part solution for automatic cleaning of the cameras and lights. This
helps insure a clear image in any weather (dust, rain, snow, etc.) A push of a button from the guard shack does the trick!
3. Hi Resolution: Without high resolution the objective of detecting possible objects of concern would be reduced.
Therefore, most suitable high resolution cameras are selected for our Und-awareTM systems.
4. Modularity and Scalability: Although not specified by prospective and existing customers, VIT's very competent and
forward looking engineers developed an extremely modular design that renders great flexibility and offers the ability to
scale-up as needed. As an example, when new cameras, monitors or image processing products become available as
technology evolves, an existing system may be upgraded easily at minimal expense.
