Smoke Guard System | Jun 8, 2007 |
The Smoke Guard System is an innovative automatic smoke barrier system designed specifically to provide designers with a reliable and cost effective alternative solution to smoke-proof lobbies and pressurisation systems. Typically, the SGS is mounted to deploy in front of lift landing doors to contain smoke on the fire floor. However, it is also suitable to protect openings in smoke walls such as doorways.

The SGS is easily located above a false ceiling or in a decorative bulkhead. On alarm the flexible magnetic barrier rolls down the face of the lift door frame (or magnetic auxiliary rails) to form a seal against the passage of smoke.
Features
- Virtually invisible in non-fire mode
- Increase nett lettable space
- Model 600 assists with the use of lifts for egress from high rise buildings by restricting the passage of water into lift shafts caused by activated sprinklers and fire fighting activities
- Eliminates the need for complicated pressurisation systems
- Eliminates the need for smoke proof lobbies
- Does not interfere in any way with the operation of the lift landing doors
Applications
