Deltek Vision® 5 Maximizes Enterprise Resource Utilization | Jun 25, 2007 |
Deltek announced the release of Vision 5, the newest version of its industry-leading software solution for project-focused professional services firms. In addition to a number significant business and technology enhancements across the solution, Vision 5 delivers unprecedented new resource planning capabilities that enable organizations to more effectively balance the process of managing project budgets and resource workloads. With Vision 5, project-based businesses can maximize profitability by reducing budget overruns and increasing resource utilization across projects.

In addition to maximizing resource utilization, the new Resource Planning module of Vision 5 helps project managers save time by allowing them to make changes across projects and resource assignments, and to see the impact of those changes instantaneously. Plus, the new Resource Planning module integrates seamlessly with the entire enterprise-wide Vision solution, offering project managers real-time insight into employee billing rates, actual labor charges and other vital information needed to bring projects in on time and on budget.
Vision 5 offers a number of other key enhancements that help project-based businesses streamline operations, improve performance and win new business. These enhancements include:
- New reporting customization capabilities for Visualization, which provides a single-screen view of the health of project portfolios.
- New inventory management capabilities: track inventory and materials by location, value inventory for costing purposes and assign inventory to project invoices.
- Reporting enhancements, including updates to Earned Value Reporting.
- New international capabilities for the United Kingdom that enhance support for Value Added Tax (VAT) requirements, financial reporting standards, BACS electronic transfer payment, and specific international data entry formats.
- Enhanced usability across the Vision solution including streamlined Info Centers and new client hierarchy in Vision CRM.
- Support for Microsoft Windows Vista and Office 2007.
