East Teak Fine Hardwoods, Inc. Introduces Garapa Gold™

Honey Gold Look is Hot New Choice for Exotic Decking Material
East Teak Fine Hardwoods, Inc., the industry leader in First European Quality teak and other fine hardwood products, announces the addition of Garapa Gold™ to its decking line. This addition is in response to industry demand for a lighter color choice in exotic decking.

East Teak Fine Hardwoods, Inc. Introduces Garapa Gold™

True to its name, Garapa Gold is a beautiful South American hardwood featuring a light yellow to golden brown color. The Garapa species, sometimes known as Brazilian Ash, is resistant to rot, decay, splinters, scratches, and even fire, without any chemical treatments. Harder than oak and bearing a smooth surface, Garapa Gold is an ideal wood choice for exterior decking.

East Teak provides first export quality Brazilian Garapa Gold in seven different sizes of decking. This product is also available tongue-and-grooved (T&G) for porch planks or pre-grooved for hidden fastener systems.

"Garapa Gold has great properties – it's very stable, insect and rot resistant, easier to work with than some other hardwoods, and it lasts a very long time, 80+ years," said George Guy, vice president of East Teak. "This wood is quickly becoming a hot alternative for those who don't like a darker hardwood like Ipé, but still want a good quality, stable, sustainable project wood for a good price."
