New FREE on-line continuing education course offered by BioBased Insulation at AEC Daily's Online Learning Center. This course is available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, and is certified by AIA, CSI, and many more organizations.

Spray foam insulation is the most effective insulation on the market because it provides an air tight seal that stops air infiltration and blocks allergens, irritants and airborne noise. This seal makes the structure more energy efficient, comfortable and healthy. And because spray foam insulation does not sag or settle over time, that air tight seal lasts for the life of the structure.

BioBased Insulation is different than traditional spray foam insulations. Polyols are the building blocks of foam, and BioBased Insulation has pioneered a process that replaces a portion of the petroleum polyols in traditional spray foam insulation with soy polyols, increasing the sustainability of the products without sacrificing quality. In addition to being soy-based, BioBased Insulation products also are water blown, which means they don’t use ozone-depleting blowing agents during installation.

BioBased Insulation offers two products: BioBased 501, a .5 lb open cell product; and BioBased 1701, a 1.7 lb closed cell product. Both are air barriers, but the closed cell product also has vapor retarder properties.

As a company, BioBased Insulation is committed to developing the most environmentally friendly and highest quality insulation products on the market.
