So what is the importance of "color" and "resolution" in a detection system?

At one of the demonstration sites at a customer location, an orange wire was placed under the vehicle and the vehicle was ordered to go over the Und-aware™ system. The observer in the control room did not know if there was something odd under the vehicle. The wire with width less than 1mm was detected and the vehicle was stopped. In this particular case, the operator pointed out that he would not have been able to detect the wire (supposedly a detonation wire) if he did not have a color system and the detection resolution was not so good. Therefore, color and resolution are both important attributes of any vehicle under surface detection system. No wonder Und-aware product line is equipped with the most appropriate camera systems with color and high resolution output.
