AAB Building System Blue Maxx Wallsystem Blue Maxx - Page 5
The Blue Maxx Building Experience. |
"Energy savings? I moved out of my old house and built a Blue Maxx home, double the size, on a neighboring site. My heating bills went from
an average of $240 a month to $70 a month! That's when I decided to go work for the company!" - Richie Scott, ex-building inspector, now

"When I decided to sell my old house and build using the Blue Maxx Wallsystem, I knew the energy savings would be substantial. I was
not, however, expecting the results to be as sensational as they are. My old house had 1600 square feet of living space heated with a gas
furnace. My Blue Maxx home, also heated with gas, has 4200 square feet of living space. In effect, I now have to heat over 2.5 times as
much house as before. the amazing thing is, my total heating bill has actually dropped by over 40%. The high insulating factor of Blue
Maxx saves me money everyday that I live in my home. And even on the coldest winter days my home is cozy and draught free."
-Frank Wawchuck, Georgetown, ON, Canada |

Most-Asked Questions & Good News Answers.
Q: Obviously, Blue Maxx builds a superior wall. But just how does it's cost compare to conventional walls and foundations?
A: Labor costs, lumber prices and concrete prices vary across North America. So the answer is going to vary a little from place to place,
builder to builder, and even from month to month. But here's our bottom line: A superior Blue Maxx finished, insulated basement is
going to cost you about the same as a comparable poured concrete or block basement, finished and insulated! And above ground,
because a Blue Maxx home can be designed with less heating and air conditioning capacity, reduced equipment and labor costs
basically cancel out somewhat higher material costs. So overall, Blue Maxx Wallsystems should run between zero and five percent over
the cost of a conventional custom built home.
Q: What kind of energy savings are we talking about?
A: The expanded polystyrene alone gives you R-25, instead of the R-9 to R-13 rating in conventional walls. And when you add the
thermal mass of concrete, you're arguably talking in the area of R-40 walls.
Q: What kind of exterior finishes are available to me when I build with Blue Maxx?
A: You can finish a Blue Maxx wall with anything you can imagine finishing a conventional wall with. Metal, vinyl or wood siding and
cedar shakes nail or screw right into high density plastic strapping built into the block every eight inches, and stucco, tiles or brick veneer
can be applied directly to the block.
Q: What about building codes. Does Blue Maxx comply?
A: Yes. Blue Maxx complies with the SBCCI, BOCA, and ICBO codes in the USA, and with the NBC in Canada. Information about local
state and provincial codes can be supplied by your Blue Maxx dealer or builder.
Q: Is it hard to find a builder who works with Blue Maxx?
A: More and more builders are discovering the efficiencies of working with Blue Maxx. They like the fact it's light, clean and just about
foolproof. They don't have to wait for special crews, they close in faster and work in all weather. They save on labor. Fitting the blocks
together is like assembling a kid's toy, and contractors can now build walls and foundations superior to those they once needed
foundation specialists to build. Your Blue Maxx distributor can give you names of builders in your area with experience using the
product. |

"My regular foundation guys were busy, and a Colorado mountain winter was coming on! We chose Blue Maxx because we could do it
with our own crew. And did it go fast! We started the block on Friday, and poured Monday. On a 3,800 square foot home! Now, we do Blue
Maxx foundations all winter long!" - Rico Didier Construction, Vail, Colorado, USA
"I'd budgeted five days to pour a frost wall, and my guys did it with Blue Maxx in one day. After that, I was hooked. We now erect buildings
from below grade to the roof in a fraction of the time!" - Don Bondy, Bondy Construction, Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada
