Repowering starts with a simple fact: your package boiler's drums (both steam drum and mud drum) have a much longer life than your boiler's tubes. By keeping your existing drums and combining them with a new gas-tight engineered furnace and a new burner system, you can achieve "new boiler" performance at a fraction of new boiler expense...usually less than 50% the cost of a new boiler system.

Additionally, because your Repowered boiler is usually not a new boiler in the eyes of regulatory authorities, you can enjoy new performance while being "grandfathered" for emission regulations.

A Repowered system is designed by evaluating 1)ABCO boiler performance together with Coen burner performance, 2) maintenance cost reduction through elimination of refractory, 3) fuel cost, and 4) fan requirements.
