VAC or 12VDC is recommended as "standard" DC and AC Continuous units are silent,
AC Intermittent units "buzz" on operation. Although design and materials used
preclude most of the traditional troubles of electric releases, it is still necessary to
provide proper installation. The unit must be supplied with the rated voltage when being
operated. This means using proper gauge wire for its length of run and a transformer with
at least 20 VA output. See 4605 on back. |
Case
Measures 2-3/4" x 3-3/8" x 1-9/16" deep.
Made of Stainless steel. Cover plate varies to suit make and handing of mortise latch.
Available in Satin Stainless Steel finish only.
Function
Remote electrical control of any door equipped with one of
the Mortise latches listed at right. Electrical actuation unlocks strike jaw, releasing
latchbolt, so door can be opened without operating latch itself. Designed to fit hollow
steel jambs prepared to ANSI specification A115.1. Requires only additional depth of
cutout for strike lip where projected latchbolt swings out. Not suitable for paired doors.
