LIMITED-ACCESS TURN

FUNCTION:

For climate-controlled buildings with metal framed sliding or pivoted windows, the 1010 turn provides an economical defense against unauthorized opening. Operated only by a simple spanner wrench, the 1010 allows maintenance personnel to open a window for washing or emergency ventilation.  Other people (if they even realize the button is an operator) are discouraged from tampering because they lack the proper operating tool. This is an inexpensive and unobtrusive alternative to a conventional pin-tumbler cylinder and key. (see page SL-11.) The turn is permanently installed by hand-pressing it into a 3/8" hole in the window frame.
