| THIN FILM INTUMESCENT
FIRE PROTECTION A/D FireflIm ®II is decorative, thin-film, intumescent fireproofing for structural steel. It allows the designer to express the structure as an artform at interior locations in buildings where fire resistance ratings are required. Beneath the colourful surface, A/D Firefilm®II is a thin film coating which intumesces. In a fire, it softens and expands to form a meringue-like layer up to 100 mm. (4 in.) thick, which insulates the structure and protects the steel from fire. The second component of the system, the decorative topcoat, A/D Colorcoat, acts as a protective layer and serves as the attractive finish. FIRE RATINGS - now rated up to 3 hours! A/D Firefilm® II has been tested and is certified by ULC and Inchcape Testing Services/ Warnock Hersey. Ratings up to three hours were attained in accordance with CAN/ULC-S101 and ASTM-El 19.
