AMCA

The Air Movement and Control Association is a non-profit trade association with a fundamental objective to "promote the health and growth of the air movement and control industry consistent with the interest of the public."

AMCA Standard 500 allows manufacturers to test products under a strict, standardized method which gives the user a viable means of comparison between product lines. The AMCA Certified Ratings Program assures that all published performance ratings are reliable and accurate.

Airline has been certifying and rating louvers and dampers with AMCA since 1977 when AMCA's scope was broadened to include such product lines.

Airline Products Company certifies that models XB-4, XB4-5, XC-4, X4-HP, XB-230, XWD4-HP, XB-6, X6-HP, XWD-6, and XWD6-HP, shown herein, are licensed to bear the AMCA Certified Ratings Seal for air performance and water penetration. The ratings shown are based on tests and procedures performed in accordance with AMCA Publication 511 and comply with the requirements of the AMCA Certified Ratings Program.

A special note concerning water penetration: In late 1990 AMCA adopted the point of of .01 ounces per square foot of free area to be considered the "beginning point of water penetration." The free area velocity at this point is to be used for purposes of comparing louver models when designing intake louvers.

The word "stormproof" has been used to describe some louver blade styles. This term is misleading and is not used by AMCA or Airline. No louver can be 100% effective against wind-driven rain. Airline designates its baffle blade styles Type "B".

With state-of-the-art computer-aided design drafting, our engineers design high efficiency louvers to satisfy the increasing demand for a high quality, high performance yet low cost louver system.

ARCHITECTURAL OPTIONS

Airline can design and manufacture louvers to satisfy the spectrum of modern architectural design requirements. Through the use of shape, color and louver configuration, practically any architectural need can be met. Examples are shown in photos throughout.
