For designs requiring intake or exhaust of air through the roof of a
building. Airline has a number of penthouse models from which to choose. Airline can make
a number of different types using any of our standard blade styles for the louver walls.
For models XPB-4 and XPC-4, mitered and welded corners and concealed mullions are
standard. Box corners and mullions are available at a considerable cost saving for
applications where appearance is less important.
Models XPWD-6, FPC-4 and FPB-4 are only available with box corners
and exposed mullion construction. Model XPWD-6 should be used for applications where
maximum free area and minimum water penetration are important. Models FPB-4 and PFC-4 are
cost effective alternatives to the XPB-4 and XPC-4 extruded models.
DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION
Penthouses can be constructed using any of Airline's
fixed, adjustable or combination louvers. Mill finish is standard; optional finishes
include anodize, Kynar 500, baked enamel and prime coating. All penthouses include
removable 1/2" mesh bird screen. Roof panels are provided with sound absorbing
undercoating; 1" thick insulation is available if required. Standard construction is
box corners with visible mullions. For continuous blade appearance, mitered corners
and concealed mullions are available for most models. All penthouses are shipped from the
factory knocked down with individual panels marked for ease of installation. Airline
products will supply curb flashing upon request. For custom engineered designs such as
