450 GOLDEN GATE PROJECT: PHILLIP BURTON FEDERAL BUILDING This GSA building in San Francisco is the industry's key BACnet pilot project and the largest BACnet installation to date. Alerton has installed Windows NT workstations, air-handling unit controllers, and nearly 1,000 VAV terminal unit controllers - all native BACnet. The building encompasses 1.4 million square feet and is 22 stories tall. Other building control systems also are integrated using the BACnet standard.

BUCKBEE-MEARS CORPORATION Buckbee-Mears Corporation expanded its state-of-the-art, high-tech manufacturing plant to accommodate demand for two new production lines. Alerton's BACtalk products provide a complete solution to controlling air-handling units with up to 35,000 CFM, make-up air-handling units, reheat coils, steam heat exchangers, boilers, and chillers with precise control of clean room temperatures, pressures, and humidity. The BACtalk system was successfully installed in this 390,000-square-foot facility in April 1997.

WEST VALLEY ACORD ICE CENTER The new West Valley Acord Ice Center in Salt Lake County will serve as one of the ice rinks for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Alerton's BACtalk system controls all mechanical systems, including the air handler, boiler, and VAV boxes in this 40,000-square-foot facility. In addition, there are two BACnet interfaces: one to a refrigeration system with two Frick chillers controlling the ice-making equipment; the other to an HVAC system with a York chiller. This BACtalk installation has been operating since the grand opening in June 1977.
