Suggested Written Specification
Use the following written specification to ensure that the fluorescent lighting you specify meets the requirements of the application into surgical
suites: 2’ x 4’ recessed fluorescent luminaire with six F32T8 lamps and a dual distribution symmetric/asymmetric low brightness linear
prism lens. Lamps are to be circuited in pairs to provide a symmetric/asymmetric light distribution which can be controlled by wall switches (by
others) to produce 33%, 66%, or 100% light levels. Each circuit is to be protected by a separate radio suppressor in compliance with the
CEO3 conducted EMI test limits of Mil-Std 461 C&D. The fixture must be clearly labeled for inspection that it complies with the MIL-STD 461
C&D for the control of radiated and conducted EMI. The height of the housing shall be no greater than 4%" and be constructed such that it can
contain up to three ballasts, three radio suppressors, and one 2-lamp emergency battery back-up ballast as specified without increasing the
height. Grid style luminaires shall be designed to fit in up to 1½" Tee grids without special ordering. Simple field conversion from grid to flange
and flange to grid style housings shall be possible without having to ship replacement fixtures. Door frame shall be one-piece 20 gauge steel,
powder-coated after fabrication (or brushed stainless steel). Door frames/lens assembly to be warranted to perform for the life of the
installation.
