Radiant heating works in exactly the same manner as the heat we receive from the Sun. The infra-red rays pass from the emitter tube of the system and heat objects only at which they are directed and not the air through which they pass.

Radiant heating systems produce evenly distributed radiant energy over the area which is to be heated. This directly heats the people, objects, and building surfaces, ensuring the heat is where it is wanted, normally below the 8 ft. height from the floor. This is in direct contrast to forced air systems which have to heat the complete volume of the building, so wasting energy.
