A sauna is a dry heat bath taken in a well-insulated room lined with
untreated, kiln-dried soft wood and heated with igneous rocks. Optimal sauna temperatures

the bather sprinkling water on the hot rocks, range between 10% and 30% depending
upon preference.

Wood Selection
Amerec saunas are built with solid tongue-and-groove construction,
and are made from clear, grade A Western Red Cedar that has been kiln-dried to prevent
warping and shrinking. Western Red Cedar is a preferred sauna material for many reasons.
It stays cool to the touch, cleans easily with soap and water, doesn't splinter and
resists stains and decay. We also offer Redwood, Hemlock and premium grade Aspen.
Bench Options
Amerec's standard benches have 2 x 4 internal construction with
Cedar S4S on the surface and face-fastened from the bottom with stainless steel screws.
Optional Luxury Benches constructed entirely of clear, all vertical
grain, Western Red Cedar 2 x 4's. With Luxury Bench design, lower bench extends to rear
wall. |
