Metal Connectors. In structures using one-hour rated glulams, supporting metal connectors and fasteners also May be designed to achieve a one-hour fire rating. A 1-1/2" covering of wood, fire-rated (Type X) gypsum wallboard or any coating approved for a one-hour rating provides the needed protection.
