SERVICE AND THERMAL DOORS

COILING SERVICE DOORS

Atlas Door Coiling Service Doors can be manufactured to fit widths up to 62' - 0'' (18.9m), while meeting the most stringent design requirements. Door can be furnished in galvanized steel, painted galvanized steel, aluminum, or stainless   steel finish, with motor, chain hoist, crank or manual operation. A variety of special applications are possible, including but not limited to: craneway openings, aircraft hangars, horizontal mountings, door/grille combinations and removable or motorized mullions.

For applications where interior comfort, temperature and cleanliness are key, consider the advantages of the Atlas Door ''All-Weather Door''. This fully weather-stripped version of our Coiling Service Door, is designed to minimize the infiltration of rain, dust, with and rodents.

PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 Section Includes

A Coiling Thermal/Coiling Service Doors including: Curtains, guides, counterbalance mechanisms, operators, installation options and hardware.

1.02 Quality Assurance

A. Regulatory Requirements: Comply with local governing codes for Coiling Thermal/Coiling Service Doors.

PART 2 PRODUCT 2.01 Manufacturer

A. Provide Atlas Door brand Coiling Thermal/Coiling Service Door as manufactured by Clopay Building Products Company, Inc., 312 Walnut Street, Suite 1600, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202-4036.

2.02 Materials / Construction

A. Type: Atlas door Model (S##GS) Coiling Service Door.

1. Slats:cold roll-formed in continuous lengths of painted galvanized steel interlocked to form curtain. Slats are F3 Flat (see pg.6).

A Type: Atlas Door Model (T##GS)Insulated   Coiling Thermal Door.

1. Thermal Door Slats: assembled of interlocking cold-formed painted galvanized steel front and back slats. Slats Type T3,   no less than 2-5/8'' (66.68mm) high x 7/8'' (22.23mm) thick, U-Value 0.16 (0.19 W/m2°K) R-Value 6.25. Environmentally safe CFC-free polyurethane foam-injected to fill all voids providing continuous insulation protection the full height of the slat. Insulation self-bonding to the two interior galvanized steel surfaces.

B. Endlocks: each end of alternate slats fitted with endlocks to act as a wearing surface in the guides and to maintain slat alignment.

C. Windload: door construction designed to satisfy windload of 20 PSF (0.96k pal) or 87MPH (140 KPH) in the fully closed position, higher windloads available. Consult Atlas Door Technical Services 800-959-9559 for exact calculations.

D.Gauge: Thickness of slat material as required by width of opening and windload requirements.

E. Galvanizing: zinc-coated in accordance with ASTM A-653.

F. Bottom Bar: curtain reinforced with a bottom bare consisting of two steel angles.

G. Weather Seal: provide interwoven neoprene astragal at the bottom bar to act as a weather seal at the floor, (standard on Thermal Door Only).

2.03 Operation

A. (manual push-up [Coiling Service Door Only]) (chain hoist) (waist-high crank hoist (awning crank (motor operated).

2.04 Mounting

A. (interior face mounted on a prepared opening).

A. (interior mounted between jambs and under lintel in a prepared opening).

A. (exterior mounted).

2.05 Spring Counterbalance

A. Counterbalance: housed in a steel pipe of diameter and wall thickness to restrict maximum deflection to 0.03''  per foot (2.5mm/m) of door width.

B. Springs: helical torsion type designed to include an overload factor of 25% and for optimum ease of operation. Springs grease-packed and mounted on a cold rolled steel inner shaft.

C. Spring Tension: adjustable from outside of end bracket plate.

D. Ball Bearing: sealed, to minimize wear of pipe shaft rotation around inner shaft.

2.06 Bracket Plates

A. Bracket Plates: carrying pipe counterbalancing shaft no less than 1/4''' (6.35mm) thickness and are to house ends of door coil. Shape of bracket to be square.

B. Drive End Bracket Plate: fitted with a sealed ball bearing.

2.07 Guide And Wall Angle Assembly

A. Guides/Wall Angles: Structural steel angles of 3/16'' (4.76mm) minimum thickness

B. Depth of Guide: shall provide adequate slat penetration to satisfy specified windload.

C. Guide Weather Seal: furnish guide weather-stripping to seal against face of Type T3 slat. (Standard on Thermal Door only.)

2.08 Hood

A. Hood: to house coil shall be fabricated of #24 U.S. Gauge painted galvanized steel. Shape of hood: round.

B. Reinforcing: laterally reinforced to prevent sag.

C.Intermediate Hood Supports: provide where door width exceed 16' - 0'' (4877mm).

D. Hood Baffle: furnish neoprene hood baffle in hood to minimize air infiltration. (Standard on Thermal Door only.)

2.09 Locking

A. Slide Bolts: on bottom bar for manual push-up (hand Chain Lock: locking bracket, mounted on guide angle (Locking Disc: on crank box of crank hoist). (Integral Gearing: of motor operator)shall provide locking for door.

2.10 Finish

A. Unglavanized Surfaces: shall consists of a shop coat of rust-inhibiting metallic primer (gray)(brown)on exposed ferrous surfaces, except bearings.

A. Glavanized Surfaces: to consist of a (gray) (tan) baked-on coat of epoxy modified polyester prime.
