PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 Installation
A. Installation: by Atlas Door authorized
representative and in accordance with Atlas Door standards and instructions.

Service Door Features / Specifications
- Slats also available in (aluminum) (extruded aluminum flat
slats [Coiling Service Door Only]) or (stainless steel).
- Steel gauges available (22) (20) (18) or (16) - Coiling
Service Door slat material. Steel gauges available (22) (20) or (18) opposite coil side
slat material on Thermal Door.
- Endlocks Continuous. Endlocks (stamped steel) (malleable
iron) or (brass to prevent sparking caused by metal to metal contact in guides).
- Special Windloads are available, consult Atlas Door
Technical Services.
- Bottom Bar (galvanized steel) (painted galvanized steel)
(aluminum) or (stainless steel). Bottom bar sloped to match contour in finished floor or
notched to match obstruction in finished floor. Astragal weather seal provided at the
bottom bar (standard on Thermal Door only).
- Sensor Edge (for motorized doors) See LIFESAFETY Products
(pg. 11).
- Service door Vision Lites provided in curtain. Furnish clear
acrylic plastic sections over individual slat cutouts, each 5'' (127mm) wide x 3/4''
(19mm) high, in sets of 15 cutouts, five slats high, three cutouts wide.
- Service Door Fenestrated Slats provided in curtain. Furnish
individual slat cutouts each 5'' (127mm) wide x 3/4'' (19mm) high.
- Service Door Perforated Slats provided in curtain. Furnish
1/16'' (1.6mm) diameter holes located on 3/32'' (2.4mm) staggered centers.
- Thermal Door Insulated Vision Lites provided in curtain.
Furnish clear double acrylic plastic sections over individual slat cutouts, each 5''
(127mm) wide x 3/4'' (19mm) high, in sets of 3 cutouts, one insulated slats high, three
cutouts wide. Non-insulated lites also available on Thermal Doors.
- High Cycle Springs (for motorized doors): High cycle design
is to satisfy (50,000) (100,000) cycles. Very High Cycles (VHC)design is to satisfy in
excess of 100,000 cycles.
- Bracket Plates made of (galvanized steel) (stainless steel).
- Guides / Wall Angles (galvanized steel) (stainless steel).

- Furnish guide weather-stripping (on outside) (on both
sides-inside and outside.) Not available on C3 slats.
- Hoods fabricated of (#22 or #20 U.S. Gauge
galvanized steel) (aluminum) (stainless steel). Shape of hood: square.

- Locking: Slide Bolt: on bottom bar, suitable for padlock
(padlocks by others). Cylinder Locks: on bottom bar.
- Painted Finish: Galvanized Surfaces: slats and hood
galvanized. Baked-on (gray)(tan) coat of epoxy-modified polyester on slats and hood. Shop
coat of rust-inhibiting metallic primer on all remaining ungalvanized surfaces, except
bearings.
- Powder Coat Finish: provide a powder coat colored finish on
both sides of the roll formed slat or other door components. Choice of 10 standard colors
are available Specify manufacturer's number for custom colors.
- Pass Door: Furnish 3'-0'' x 7'-0'' (914mm x 2134mm) hollow
metal pedestrian door (custom sizes available) within rolling door. Hollow metal door
frame is to be hinged to rolling door guide so that frame and metal door will swing
clear of opening when desired. Hardware to include heavy duty hinges and lock set with
cylinder lock outside and night latch inside.
- Stop lock Bearing: provided to prevent curtain from falling
completely to the floor in the event of damage to operator or spring counterbalance.
- Service Door Weatherstripping: doors to be ''All-Weather''
fully weather stripped at sill, hood, and guides Use Type F3 flat slats.
- Transom Panel: provide 4-sided frame with slat material to
match door.
- Removable Mullions: provide removable guide assembly, below
lintel, between adjacent doors.
- Motorized Mullions: provide motorized guide assembly, below
lintel, between adjacent doors.

Maximum size recommended for manual push-up
operation is 80 sq. ft. (7.43m2) or 8'- 4'' (2540mm) high.
3'' (76.2mm) is dimension of top hood bead. Where headroom
is limited, 3''' (76.2mm) requirement can be eliminated by turning bead down.
Windlocks are standard on service doors over
18'-4-7/8" (5610mm) wide and optional for doors under 18'-4-7/8'' (5610mm) wide
for excessive windloading. |
