ACCORDION GRILLES
This versatile Atlas Door product uses rolling grille curtain construction that folds to
the side. It is top-hung, using roller carriers contained in the top track. There is
no floor track. The accordion grille can turn the corner with the smallest radius of
13-5/8'' (346mm). Units can be single-sliding or bi-parting.
Cylinder locks at the lead stile and in intermediate posts,
join with a rotating hook bolt and floor-inserted sleeves to provide a secure locking
system.
Accordion grilles are always manually operated.

finish of curtain.

PART 1 GENERAL 1.01
GENERAL 1.01 Section Includes
A. Accordion (Folding) Grilles including:
curtains, top track, intermediate port, lock receptor and tracking edge installation
options and hardware.
1.02 Quality Assurance
A. Regulatory Requirements: comply with
local governing codes for Accordion (folding) Grilles, including any ADA
requirements.
PART 2 PRODUCT 2.01
Manufacturer
A. Provide Atlas Door brand
Accordion Grille as manufactured by Clopay Building Products Company,
Inc., 312 Walnut Street, Suite 1600, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202-4036.
2.02 Materials / Construction
A. Type: Atlas Door Model:
(A11MA) Accordion Grille.
Curtain: is made from continuous vertical
cores spaced 2-1/2'' (63.50mm) on center, covered with aluminum spacer tubes and connected
by staggered horizontal aluminum links.
B. Carriers: curtain top-hung and equipped
with ball bearing roller carriers swiveling to eliminate binding.
C. Linkage: top and bottom scissors-acting
steel linkage provided.
D. Leading Stile: aluminum extrusion
containing the locking device.
E. Intermediate Posts: provided no more
than 8'-0'' (2438mm) apart and at all curves and to retain lock assemblies.
F. Trailing Edge: integral with curtain
assembly to act as the storage pocket closure when accordion grille is fully closed.
2.03 Track
A. Top Track: extruded aluminum shape to
fiat roller carriers at top of curtain. Top track to determine path of grille. FLOOR TRACK
IS NOT REQUIRED.
2.04 Locking
A. Leading Stile: Provided with a
concealed cylinder-operated rotating hook bolt lock, operable from both sides of curtain.
B. Lock Receptor: installed in wall to act
as locking end member and shall be of extruded aluminum channel for single-slide units.
C. Intermediate Posts: furnished with a
concealed cylinder operable from inside only, to engage sleeve set into the floor.
D. Keying: all cylinder locks keyed alike.
2.05 Finish
A. Aluminum Surfaces: mill finish.

Installation
A. Installation:by Atlas Door authorized
representative and in accordance with Atlas Door standards and instructions.

(Duranodic-Vue) plastic inserts for full curtain solid protection.
- Locking:available with
(Thumb Turns) (''Best Shells'') (''U-Change It'') locks. Aluminum Surfaces:
mill, clear anodized, or bronze duranodic collar. Steel Surfaces: stainless
steel with a # 4 finish.
- Emergency Egress Panel: Furnish 3'-0''
(914mm) wide egress panel within accordion grille at lead stile. Panel to have Clear-Vue
plastic curtain to curtain to secure thumb turn lock. Call our Technical Services for
