/allows door to be motorized down while a fire alarm condition exists.
Note:Sensor Edge Option is required with FIREPOWER.

SPECIFICATIONS
1.01 Section Includes
A. Type :The motor will be Atlas
Door (model FSM-50 as manufactured by Clopay Building Products).
B. Mounting: To be vertical front of hood
or wall mount (below coil box).
1.02 Related Work
A. Electrical wires,wiring, disconnect
switches and conduit are in a scope of work of other sections or trades.
2.01 Operator

A. Motor: Provide
high-torque,intermittent -duty,squirrel-cage induction electric motor.TENV motor.Capacitor
start motor for single phase applications. Operator is limited to 12 cycles per hour.
B. Reduction: To be parallel
shaft gearbox with aluminum die cast housing. Precision-machined gearing,
hardened for maximum load capability. Splash-lubricated with permanent,heavy-duty
gear oil. C. Drive:Product shaft to
be driven by 50 series roller chain to provide travel of 6" to 12"
per second.
D. Brake:To be
electrically activated magnetic disc type brake.
E. Electrical Enclosure:
All electrical components shall be in a NEMA 1 enclosure and pre-wired
to terminal block.
F. Reversing Contactor:
Heavy-duty, across-the -line reversing type with mechanical interlock,size "00".
G. Limit Switches : To be
positive chain accessible for precision setting or adjusting. Limit switches will retain
settings when the emergency hand chain is used and during mechanical governed closure.
2.02 Operation
A. Automatic Powered Closing with FIREPOWER Control
System:
If this door in the open position and an alarm condition
occurs, the door will automatically close under motor operation . In the event the door
should hit an obstruction while closing, it will reverse and return to the full open
position, and then begin closing again. If the obstruction is not removed, the door will
be recycle approximately three (3) times,finally closing and stopping at the lowest
possible position. If after the door has finished the cycling mode and the
obstruction is removed, the door will proceed to the floor.
B. Automatic Closing: If the
door is in the open position and the fuse link melts,the door will automatically
close by mechanical governed closure. No manual reset is required.
C. Fuse Link Release: If
the door is in the open position and the fuse link melts,the door will
automatically close by mechanical governed closure. Once the fuse link
is replaced, resetting the door is done by pressing the open button.
D. Alarm Voltage: Type and
voltage must be specified. Available in 12 VDC, 24VDC, 24VAC and 115VAC.
Alarm can be maintained or applied voltage. To maintain the maximum fail-safe
capability,maintained voltages are recommended.
E. Control Circuit: Shall be reduced to 24
VAC , Pre-wired for safety edge to reverse, fuse link release,test key switch and
three-button station.
F. Control Stations: To be
one NEMA 1 surface- mount three -button station with open,close and stop
functions. Momentary contact to open,close and stop.
G. FIRESET CONTROLS:
Includes NEMA 1 surface mount test key switch and fuse link release assembly.
H. Overload Protection: Three-phase
units have auto-resetting overload protection. Single-phase units have
manual mechanical operation,with external reset.
I. Emergency Operation: To
be by floor-operated chain hoist which must be engaged for manual mechanical
operation. Supplied with a fuse link on the disconnect sash chain
and electrically interlocked.
2.03 Options
A. Time Delay on Loss of Power: Emergency
back-up system to maintain the door open in loss of power condition. Will be mounted in a
separate wall-mounted enclosure.
B. Battery Back-up: Emergency
back-up system required to provide power to motor operator in the event
of power failure.
3.01 Installation
A. Installation: To be by an Atlas Door
authorized representative in accordance with Atlas Door's standards and instructions.
