GENERAL DESCRIPTION

 

210-8. This wide-angle baffle/enclosure is designed to accommodate surface installation of a standard 8" (203mm) loudspeaker. Assembly is engineered as an acoustical horn to radiate sound energy from the rear of the loudspeaker to achieve excellent coverage and efficiency. Acoustical and mechanical treatments consist of patched jute lining, undercoating, and concentric reinforcement rings. The inner and outer enclosure are constructed of 18-gauge aluminum. The loudspeaker mounting plate and grille are manufactured of 20-gauge, cold rolled steel. Versatile unit has provisions to mount directly to a 4" (102mm) octagon E.O. box (by others) or, if desired, by toggle bolts (not included) directly to the ceiling. Outer enclosure is finished in textured white. Inner enclosure and grille are brushed aluminum with a clear acrylic coating.

260-8. This economical surface-mount baffle/enclosure features four bass-reflex ports which provide smooth and extended bass response of an 8" loudspeaker. Mechanical and acoustical treatments include patched jute lining, under coating, and concentric reinforcement rings. Model 260-8 mounts directly to the ceiling. Construction is 18-gauge aluminum with a satin finish and a clear acrylic coating.

ARCHITECTS' AND ENGINEERS' SPECIFICATIONS

Model 210-8. The baffle/enclosure shall be wide-angle surface-mounting Model210-8 by Atlas/Soundolier. It shall be of two-piece construction consisting of an18-gauge aluminum inner and outer enclosure. The loudspeaker mounting plate and grille shall be of 20-gauge, cold rolled steel construction. Acoustic and mechanical treatment shall include undercoating and patched jute lining in the inner enclosure and concentric reinforcement rings on the outer enclosure. The assembly shall have a compliant connection between the inner and outer enclosure. The inner enclosure shall mount a standard 8" (203mm) loudspeaker. Outside dimensions shall be 14 3/8" (365mm) O.D. x 4¼" (108mm) projection. Finish shall be textured white on the outer enclosure and brushed aluminum on the inner enclosure.

Model 260-8 The surface mount baffle/enclosure for 8" (203mm) loudspeakers shall be Atlas/Soundolier Model 260-8 or approved equal. Outside dimensions shall be 13 5/8" (346mm) diameter x 4¼'' (114mm) projection. Unit shall be constructed of .040 aluminum. Acoustical and mechanical treatment shall include four bass reflex ports, concentric reinforcement rings, undercoating, and patched jute lining. The baffle/enclosure shall mount directly to the ceiling. Finish is satin aluminum.
