Vandal-proof baffle shall be Atlas/Soundolier Model (VP410-S for
unidirectional applications; VP510-B for bi-directional applications). Housing shall be
manufactured of spun .090 tempered aluminum and shall have a high-tensile, cast aluminum
ring at (one,both) end(s). Ring shall be made of a self-aging alloy and shall have a
tensile strength of 44,000 lbs. per sq. in. Grille shall have a stainless-steel, woven,
wire mesh screen spun over a 21-gauge CRS subplate. Grille assembly shall be fastened to
the cast trim ring from the inside by means of screws which shall not be visible. Castings
shall be fastened to housing by means of special heat-treated alloy tamper-proof screws
which shall be flush. Special wrench shall be supplied. Mounting is achieved through slots
for direct mounting to outlet box, or by means of independent anchors to ceiling. Baffle
shall mount Atlas/Soundolier 8" (203mm) loud- speaker Model or re-re-entrant horn
Model (by means of Atlas/Soundolier adapter plate Model FAMT-6). Finish shall be satin
aluminum with a clear baked epoxy coating.
