APPLICATIONS

Choose from 14 different square enclosure models to fulfill varying installation and application requirements. Selection includes protective enclosures for recessed installation of standard and UL Listed 4" (102mm) and 8" (203mm) loud-speakers. Models are offered in various depths and for torsion and screw-mount application of grilles. Select models are also offered in high-performance, extra-depth versions (8" deep) with acoustic fiberglass (Refer to SL3-1401 "Enclosures for Extended 8" Loudspeaker Performance").

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Atlas/Soundolier square protective enclosures are cost-effective assemblies that mount a wide variety of Atlas/Soundolier grilles. All models are of welded CRS construction, finished in black enamel, and are undercoated to eliminate mechanical and acoustical resonances. Units are also furnished with four compound conduit knockouts. Refer to chart on back for dimensions and mounting information.

ENCLOSURES FOR 8" DIA. LOUDSPEAKERS

(T) 191-78 / 191-78-5. Versatile enclosures feature an adjustable mounting bracket (1/16" - ¾") to provide installation flexibility in a variety of ceiling types and depths. The 191 Series is designed for 8" (203mm) dia. loudspeakers and is available in two depths (4" and 5") and choice of standard screw-mount or torsion spring (T) baffle mounting configurations. Series includes patch-jute lining and black enamel finish. Extra-depth, 8" deep version is also available with acoustic fiberglass. Refer to SL3-1401 for details.

193-8/193-8-5. Economical enclosures accommodate 8" (203mm) dia. loud-speakers and standard screw-mount baffle installation. Models are offered in twostandard depths (3-¾" and 5"). Design includes slotted mounting holes to accept 180 Series support rails for efficient installation in suspended tile ceilings.Finished in black enamel.

199-8. Versatile enclosure for 8" (203mm) dia. loudspeakers is equipped with U-Clips in each corner to facilitate installation of a wide variety of round and square screw-mount grilles. Finished in black enamel.

ENCLOSURES FOR 4" AND 8" DIA. STANDARDAND UL LISTED LOUDSPEAKERS

198-4 /198-8 Series. Model Series198-4 is designed for 4" (102mm) dia. loud-speakers and will accommodate standard screw-mount baffles. Series 198-8 isfor 8" (203mm) dia. loudspeakers and is available in two depths (3-¾" and 5") and a choice of standard screw-mount or torsion spring (T) baffle mounting con-figurations. Finish is black enamel. Extra depth. 8" deep enclosures are also available with acoustic fiberglass. Refer to SL3-1401 for details.

Models U198-4 and U (T)198-8 are UL listed for fire protective signaling application and are plenum rated under UL file S 1824. They are designed for use with Atlas/Soundolier UL Listed (Standard 1480) fire-protective 4" signaling loud-speaker Series UDT and 8" loudspeaker Series UHT/UKT respectively. Refer toSL6-1181 for UL approved loudspeaker and baffle combinations.
