APPLICATIONS

Vandal proof intercom and communications stations are designed for use in correctional institutions, detention facilities and public access areas where vandalism is a concern in railroad and bus terminals, drive-in services, garages, access gates, lobbies, hallways and recreation facilities. Heavy duty, weatherproof units with environment resistant compression driver are engineered for effective voice and signal transmission with long term service life and trouble free reliability. High power 15 watt models are for installation in large open areas and where maximum power is required to achieve audibility in highambient sound levels. Standard power 2 watt models are an alternative for communication in areas with average size and sound levels. Units with call switch are for use where call/signal origination is a required functional capability or a desired adjunct to safety and security. All styles are suitable for new and existing construction.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

VPVT / VPVT-PB Series vandal proof loudspeaker stations withstand damage caused from abuse, moisture, corrosion, dust, vibration and temperature extremes from 150º to -30 Fº. Stations are available in 15 or 2 watt models with 11 gauge stainless steel plate mounted to the high efficiency VT Series compression driver. Patented 8 ohm driver with watersealed die cast zinc housing and exponential sound projector is recognized for dependable performance and high intelligibility voice and signal transmission. Driver functions as a loudspeaker and a microphone for hands-free remote station communication with a centrally located master control. VPVT-PB Series incorporates a vandal proof call switch with 3 amp contact rating for call-in signalling capability. Call switch is a heavy duty, momentary action push button flush mounted for security and durability. Models are available with choice of 70.7V or 25V transformer. Station assemblies install with tamperproof, button-head breakaway screws to a recess mounting enclosure (order separately). VPVT Series measure 6Y4"SQ (159mm) and mount to enclosure Model VP-66 size 5½"SQ x 3½" D (140 x 90mm). VPVT-PB Series are 7Y4"SQl (184mm) and mount to enclosure Model VP-77 size 5½"W x 6¼"H x 3½"D (159 x 140 x 90mm). Enclosures are 16 gauge CRS with a rust preventive coating.

VPB-1 is a vandal resistant pushswitch intercom accessory mounted to a single gang size stainless steel plate. Utilize assembly in conjunction with VPVT and VPCS stations or as a stand alone signalling device when a separate or remotely located call origination button is desired. Switch is a SPST normally open circuit with 3 amp contact rating.
