Entrepreneurial spirit is how AVONITE®, started in 1983 with a patented product and process designed to simulate natural stone through
polymeric chemistry. In 1985, AVONITE, Inc. became the first producer of solid surface materials to introduce vibrant colors and textures. As
AVONITE brought "A New Stone Age of Elegance" to the growing market for solid surface products, the company's sales grew at such a
rapid rate that it out-paced its southern California production facility. In 1989, AVONITE, Inc., in partnership with Aristech Chemical
Corporation (formerly U.S. Steel Chemicals) built a state of the art manufacturing facility in Belen, New Mexico, USA. Aristech Chemical
Corporation headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, having sales in excess of $1.0 billion dollars, is a large chemical producer. In
addition, Aristech Chemical Corporation operates a world scale acrylic continuous casting plant, at which AVONITE's Formstone products
are produced.
AVONITE's computer controlled process allows for quality assurance and improvements. Coupling these improvements with management's
strong commitment to research and development and AVONITE's four international patents has resulted in AVONITE's growth and increased
service to a world market, AVONITE products are global, being solid worldwide.
