Barrier Type B

BARRIER TYPE B

BARRIER Type B solvent based system is the original BARRIER coating. For 27 years BARRIER Type B has offered superior protection for brick, concrete (above and below grade), wood, metal and painted surfaces.

One of BARRIER Type B's outstanding features is its ability to remain water-clear. BARRIER never ambers! Where coloration is desired, BARRIER Type B may be pigmented to suit particular needs.

WATERPROOFING: BARRIER Type B prevents moisture penetration, freeze-thaw damage, spalling and chipping and crumbling of brick and concrete. BARRIER may be applied over other coating systems, and is designed to at least double the lifetime of an existing painted surface.

COOLS: BARRIER helps keep buildings cool by refracting infrared rays. BARRIER saves energy!

APPEARANCE: BARRIER will enhance the appearance of many surfaces while remaining durable and water clear. Even graffiti may be removed with a solvent wash!

PENETRATION: BARRIER's ability to perform these varied functions is largely due to its unique penetration. While most coatings merely lie on the surface, BARRIER actually penetrates up to 1/4" into the substrate offering added protection against moisture penetration and abrasions.

ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION is responsible for most fading causing crowsfooting of organic coating systems. BARRIER is completely opaque to U.V. radiation in the ultraviolet frequencies below 2800 AU. This is one of the reasons why BARRIER provides prolonged film life when compared to so-called "similar products."

The surface to be sealed must be thoroughly clean and dry. Type B should be applied with a brush, roller, or airless-spray equipment. Type B will cover 250-300 sq. ft./gal. depending on the porosity of the surface.

PROPERTIES:
BARRIER Type B is available in 12%-40% solids. Test methods and additional data, including acid resistance, is available upon request.
