NOTES FOR ALLOWABLE LOAD TABLES

Assumes design span is equal to the clear span plus one-half of the required bearing length at each end.
Bearing length shown is required at each end and is based on the allowable bearing stress of the beam (900 psi). A longer bearing length may be required to meet additional design considerations or to account for a weaker bearing material.
The bearing lengths shown are based on allowable total load and may be reduced proportionally for lighter loads.

Continuous lateral support at the top of the beams is assumed.
For 7" wide members, double the 3 1/2" wide values.
