SPECIFICATIONS: Type PCM, PDCM. Access door shall be Type size as manufactured by The Bilco Company. Door(s) shall be 1/4"
(6.35mm) aluminum diamond pattern plate to withstand a live load of 300 Ib/ft2 (1464 kg/m2) with a maximum allowable deflection of 1/150th
of the span. Frame shall be 1/4" (6.35mm) extruded aluminum with an overall depth of 6" (152mm) for a 6" (152mm) concrete slab thickness
[specify desired frame depth if not 6" (152mm)] and have a channel with a minimal cross-sectional area of 7-1/2 in2 (4839mm2) for adequate
water drainage. A 1-1/2" (38mm) drainage coupling shall be provided on the exterior vertical leg of the frame at the front right corner. Door(s)
shall be equipped with heavy forged brass hinges having 3/8" (9.53mm) minimum diameter stainless steel pins and pivot so that the cover
does not protrude into the channel frame. A Type 316 stainless steel snap lock with a gasketed cover plug and removable turn handle shall
be provided. A stainless steel torsion bar mechanism, acting through cams, shall be provided for smooth, easy and controlled door operation
throughout the entire arc of the opening and closing. Operation shall not be affected by temperature. The door shall lock automatically in the
vertical position by means of a heavy steel automatic hold open arm with release handle. Hold open arm and lock strike shall be zinc plated
and chromate sealed. All other hardware, including fasteners, shall be stainless steel. Aluminum shall be mill finish with bituminous coating
applied to the exterior of the frame. Manufacturer shall provide a peel-off protective covering on the top surface of the door leaf an frame.
Installation shall be in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Manufacturer shall guarantee against defects in material or workmanship
for a period of five years.
