Single & Double Leaf Aluminum for Carpet or Composition Covering

SPECIFICATIONS: Type T, Type TD. Floor access door shall be Type to receive [specify 1/8" (3.18mm) or 3/16" (4.76mm) for composition covering, 3/16" (4.76mm) for carpet] as manufactured by The Bilco Company. Frame shall be 1/4" (6.35mm) extruded aluminum with built-in neoprene cushion and with strap anchors bolted to exterior, Door leaf shall be 1/4" (6.35mm) aluminum smooth plate to withstand a live load of 150 lb/ft² (732 kg/M²) with a maximum allowable deflection of 1/150th of the span. Cast steel cam-action hinges shall be bolted to the underside and pivot on torsion bars for smooth, easy and controlled door operation throughout the entire arc of opening and closing. Operation shall not be affected by temperature. Doors snail open to 90 degrees and lock automatically in that position. A vinyl grip handle shall be provided to release the cover for closing. A Type 316 stainless steel snap lock and removable turn handle shall be provided. Aluminum shall be mill finish, with bituminous coating to be applied to exterior of frame by manufacturer. Hardware shall be zinc plated and chromate sealed. Installation shall be in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Manufacturer shall guarantee against defects in material or workmanship for a period of five years.

Odor Resistant Single Leaf Aluminum Vault Access Door

SPECIFICATIONS: Type J-AL-R. Access door shall be Type___ size ___ as manufactured by The Bilco Company. Door leaf shall be 1/4" (6.35mm) aluminum diamond pattern plate to withstand a live load of 300 lb/ft² (1464 kg/M²) with a maximum deflection of 1/150th of the span. Channel frame shall be 1/4" (6.35mm) aluminum with full anchor flange around the perimeter and shall have a minimum cross-sectional area of 7-1/2" in² (4839mm²) to allow for proper water drainage. Door shall be equipped with heavy extruded aluminum hinges having 5/16" (7.94mm) minimum diameter stainless steel pins. Compression spring operators enclosed in telescopic tubes shall be provided for smooth, easy and controlled door operation throughout the entire arc of opening and closing. Operation shall not be affected by temperature. The door shall automatically lock in the vertical position by means of a heavy steel hold-open arm with release handle. A continuous EPDM gas shall be affixed to the frame and form an odor-resistant barrier around the entire perimeter of the cover. The gasket shall provide the unit with an air infiltration rate of less than 1.0 CFM (1.69 M³/h) per lineal foot of cover perimeter while under a pressure differential, across the cover, of 1" (25.4mm) water column. A Type 316 stainless steel snap lock with a gasketed cover plug and removable turn handle shall be provided. A 1-1/2" (38mm) drainage coupling shall be located in the front right corner of the channel frame (if drainage system allows for the passage of odors into the frame, then appropriate protection, such as a trap, must be provided by others in the field). Hardware shall be zinc plated and chromate sealed and all fasteners shall be Type 316 stainless steel [For highly corrosive conditions, when so specified, Type J-AL-R doors are available with Type 316 stainless steel hardware throughout]. Factory finish shall be mill-finish aluminum with a bituminous coating applied to the exterior of the frame. Installation shall be in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Manufacturer shall guarantee against defects in material or workmanship for a period of five years.
