BirdwireTM

BIRDWIRE™
America's Most Discreet Ledge Protection

While many products are available to deter pigeons from ledges, most have one major side effect; they are visible and unsightly up close. Bird Barrier's Birdwire™ system is not only an effective anti-perching device, it is also very hard to detect from short distances. If your pigeon problem is in a high-end environment, and aesthetics are very important, Birdwire™ is for you.

From 20 feet the system is virtually invisible. In reality it is strong stainless steel posts anchored into the surface, with spring-tensioned stainless steel wire strung horizontally over the ledge.

How It Works

Thin strands of nylon-coated stainless steel wire are spring tensioned between short stainless steel posts, which have been mounted to the ledge. The wires, strung at alternating heights provide an unstable landing platform, which deters the birds from landing.

Installation Options

Bird Barrier™'s brackets let you install Birdwire™ almost anywhere.

Whether your ledge is stone, concrete, steel, sheet metal, wood or stucco, there is a Birdwire™ mounting component available. For no-holes-installation, the new glue-on bases can support the system while protecting the integrity of your building. Special systems are also available for pipes, rain gutters, ridges, wide ledges, canopies and I-beams.

Post Configuration: The first post is mounted one inch in from the outer edge of the ledge. The following posts are mounted every three inches. Posts are mounted every five feet down the length of the ledge.

Schematic: With posts mounted every five feet, the stainless steel wire is spring tensioned every ten feet. Discreet springs and crimps help to insure a low-visibility installation.

Glue-on-Bases: The Birdwire system can be installed on your building without drilling holes by gluing this well designed base. Posts can be removed from the base (for building maintenance), by loosening the set screw.

Split Pins and anchor rivets can be used whet two walls face each other, to suspend Birdwire™ over the ledge.

Barely visible from 25 feet away, the Birdwire™ system offers protection from pigeons, gulls and larger birds.

Materials
All metal components of Bird Barrier's Birdwire™ system are made of the highest grade marine stainless steel available. The plastic bases and anchor rivets are ultra violet stabilized nylon for many years of hassle-free performance. All components are protected by Bird Barrier's comprehensive five-year guarantee.

Humane
There is literally no way for a bird or human to sustain an injury from the Birdwire™ system.

Electrified Option
birdb04e.JPG (4329 bytes)
With the Railing Bracket you can suspend Birdwire™ above any pipe.

Bird Barrier has recently introduced a new electrified version of Birdwire™ called Bird Fence. Available as both 110v. and solar systems, Bird Fence promises to protect ledges from smaller birds than non-electrified Birdwire™.  And because of its non-lethal conditioning shock,  Bird Fence will deter all birds from even the most desirable roosts.
Please contact Bird Barrier for up-to-date specifications, drawings and installation instructions.

How to Specify Birdwire™
Simply measure the length and width of all ledges and landing platforms, or measure pipes to be protected. Identify the material and decide whether to glue or screw. And of course, call Bird Barrier for any assistance toll-free at 800-503-5444.
