| Blackpointe Wood Veneers American Black Cherry and Northern Hard White Maple are universally
popular, and have been chosen for their fine character and finish versatility. Both
species are a hard and strong wood and are excellent for cabinet and furniture work.
These veneers and solids will exhibit natural variations in
color, texture, and grain. Cherry and maple veneers are light sensitive and will change
from a light transparent color to a rich, darker color after a period of exposure to
light. This natural change occurs depending on the initial veneer color and is more
noticeable with lighter finishes. These inherent characteristics are part of cherry and
maple's natural beauty. If you are adding furniture to an existing installation,
Blackpointe suggests that you submit a finish sample with your order.
Figured Anegre is an African hardwood that is imported in
large quantities to the United States. Its natural color is cream to tan with a pinkish
tinge. Anegre has a fine texture and a lustrous surface.
These special qualities allow it to accept medium light to
dark finishes, highlighting the light, medium to heavy fiddle-back and mottle figure that
is unique to Anegre. For these reasons, Anegre lends itself to special applications with
Blackpointe's conference tables.
Wood Finish Program
Prices listed in the Blackpointe price list are for all
standard colors in open pore satin finishes with a sheen level of 40 degrees.
Blackpointe's standard finish is a multistep process that ensures added protection and
durability through the application of a final top coat of catalyzed lacquer. Open pore
gloss, closed pore matte, and closed pore gloss are also available. Please contact
Customer Service for additional lead time requirements and pricing upcharge. Blackpointe's
standard finishes have been formulated for maximum clarity to enhance the natural
characteristics of each particular wood specie.
Blackpointe's wood finish samples are prepared and finished
on the same production line as our conference and occasional tables. Variations in grain
and veneer color may subtly influence a finish color. Consequently, there may be a slight
difference between the wood samples and the production conference and occasional tables.
The age of the wood sample and the darkening process that naturally occurs may also affect
the sample finish color.
