| Wood Blackpointe's wood finishes are formulated to be extremely durable.
However, the beauty of your wood furniture will benefit from the following care
considerations:
Routine cleaning should consist of wiping with a soft,
clean, damp cloth and drying with another clean cloth.
When dusting, cleaning or polishing, gently rub back and
forth with the grain, rather than in a circular motion.
Dusting or polishing should be done with a reliable polish
that does not contain silicones. Oily polishes and waxes should not be used because they
can cause a hazy buildup. Blackpointe suggests that you consider Scott's Liquid Gold® or Olde English® if you wish to use
a furniture polish on an occasional basis.
Care should be taken to avoid moisture seepage. Any liquid
that is spilled on the surface should be wiped up immediately.
Apply felt, leather or cork pads to all items that will be
used or displayed on surfaces. Blackpointe recommends using a blotter pad for writing
surfaces.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading and
color change in wood. If the furniture is going to be used in an area where it will be
exposed to direct sunlight, Blackpointe suggests that you consider treating windows with
3M Scotchshield®.
Forbo
Forbo should be maintained using a neutral pH detergent and
water.
Forbo does have self healing properties because it is a
flexible material, so that minor scratches will disappear in time.
Extended direct exposure to sunlight should be avoided.
Care should be taken to avoid having any sharp objects come
in contact with the Forbo Surface.
Metal
Blackpointe metal finishes are easy to maintain. Warm water
and mild liquid detergent will remove most spills and scuffs. Some spills may not be water
soluble, and it is recommended that you call Blackpointe Customer Service for consultation
on an effective stain removal process.
A precautionary note:
Ceramic pots and the rubber feet on some telephones will
leave a stain or imprint that is not removable. We strongly advise the use of a protective
underliner or felt pads to prevent such stains or imprints from occurring.
Glass Frosted and Etched
Any commercial glass cleaner and a soft, clean cloth may be
used to clean.
Marble and Granite
Use a soft, damp, clean cloth and mild soap and water. Do
not use commercial cleaners.
Environ
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth to remove any surface dust. To
remove sticky spills, use a clean damp cloth and always dry area with a clean, soft dry
cloth and immediately afterwards.
Do not use harsh chemical or abrasive cleaners. The use of
coasters and pads to protect the Environ surface is recommended.
Laminate
Due to the protection built in during the manufacturing
process, laminate surfaces simply require a gentle dusting of the surface with a soft,
moist lint-free cloth. This should be followed with a clean drying cloth. |
