U.S. Cement®
Specifications Our U.S. Cement products comply with the latest
requirements of ASTM C -91. Properly mixed with 21/2 to 3 parts sand, conforming to the
latest requirements of ASTM C-144, the mortar should exceed requirements of ASTM C-270 for
Type N, Type S or Type M as specified by the architect.
Our custom colors Though the samples shown here are the colors
most in demand, we know that some projects call for less traditional shades. We will be
happy to work with you in developing the precise color you're looking for.
And since color can be affected by certain sands used on job sites, our
masonry cements can be custom colored so that available sand can be used without
jeopardizing integrity.
Cleaning colored mortar Improper cleaning methods can damage a
structure. Masonry cleaning acids should never be used because it will dissolve the
surrounding cement paste, allowing pigment to be washed away. This exposes sand grains and
can cause a color change. For this reason, you should avoid muriatic acids or proprietary
cleaners containing acids. We recommend the use of water and mild detergents only.
Eaglebond®
Eaglebond is portland cement and Type S hydrated lime formulated for use as a prepared
portland/lime mortar cement. It comes in all of the same pre-mixed colors shown at left,
or is available in custom shades and in Types N, S and M. All specifications apply.
Superbond®
No other mortar cement in the industry offers you more bond strength than Superbond. No
other is more water-resistant. Our Superbond is an improved mill mixed blend of portland
cement, plasticizing materials and other agents which afford enhanced workability and
extended board life. This product complies with U B C 21-20 and has an entrained air level
below 12%. Available in Type S only.
Our limited warranty Our warranty extends to our products only,
and not to the overall finished job. This is because total quality is the result of many
factors over which we have no control, such as workmanship, and other materials used along
with our masonry cement.
Our natural product colors
These colors are all pure and natural, derived only from the
basic ingredients used in our manufacturing process. All specifications and limited
warranties apply. Our Magnolia Mason's Mix has been a proven and popular product for over
60 years, and was the starting point for the formulation of our other natural-color
masonry cements.
