Make it easier with Type K
Building concrete slabs and
other structures is a far simpler process with Type K Shrinkage Compensating Concrete than
with ordinary portland concrete. When you use Blue Circle's Type K Cement, much more water
is required for expansion. Since the concrete is much wetter, working with Type K is much
easier. The job also goes faster, and costs are lower. Following are some specific
advantages:
Higher Slump
Because Type K Shrinkage Compensating Concrete is a lot wetter, it's
much easier to pour. You automatically pour a higher slump (between 4" and 6").
With higher slumps, finishers can place the concrete much faster.
No Bleed Water
With little or no bleed water, finishers are able to work the surface
much earlier.
Larger Placements
You get a significant decrease in placement costs since
placements are much larger. Control joints are not necessary.
No "Checker-Boards"
Since Type K can be placed the next day adjoining the previous day's
placement, there is no need to checkerboard slabs.
No Special Sequencing
Walls can be placed 150 feet in length - no special sequencing
required.
Easier Pumping
Because Type K concrete mixes are richer with cement, concrete
pumping is much easier.
When you specify Blue Circle
Type K Cement, you also get Blue Circle Type K experts.
