Bowls
Specifications
SizeandCapacity:Accommodates
3 users (36"models) or 4 users (54"models)at a time, using less water, energy,
and space than lavs equipped with conventional faucets. Thenonsectional spray head module
is controlled by amechanically actuated hold-openvalve( foot control models) or by
aninfrared sensor-actuated solenoid valve. Flowrateat 1.25GPM (36" models) or 3GPM
(54" models) when properly adjusted.Operating range is 20100 PSI.
Bowl
Materials :Bowls for Classic wash fountains are available in Bradstone, terrazzo,
orstainless steel.
MoldedBradstone:Composedo
freinforced thermosetting polyesterresins, finely ground in organic
fillers, and fade-resistant pigments. Bradstone bowls are 85% lighter than precast bowls,
yet comparable on a strength-to-weight basis. Bradstone is highlyresistant to acid,
abrasions, and corrosion; and will not chip, peel,or flake. The bowl has a uniform
thickness of 1/4".The underside is structurally reinforced by equally spacedradial
ribs1/4"WX3/4"H.
PrecastTerrazzo:Composed
of approximately 85% stone and 15% binder with stee lre inforcing rodscastinto the
bowl. Polished and sealed withure thane resin.
StainlessSteel:One-piecepressing of 14 gauge
stainless steel polished to a#4finish.
Pedestals:Constructed
of die-formed legs , upper braces , scuff bases, and panels: legs are14 gauge galvanized
steel; upper braces are heavy gauge steel coated with arust preventative; and scuff
bases are stainless steel with a#4finish .Pedestal panels are specific to wash
fountainty peas follows:Bradstone wash fountains have tapered, vacuum-formed ABS panels;
terrazzo wash fountains have straight, galvanized ,vinyl-clad steel panels;and stainless
steel wash fountains have straight, type 304s tainless steel panels polished to a#4finish.
StandardEquipment
Valves and Fittings:In addition to bowl and pedestal,
the following valves and fittings are standard: spray head with stainless steel
support tube and bowlgasket; spud with locknut and beehive strainer; spray head supply
pipe; manual mixing valve; volume control valve; and combination stop strainer and
checkvalves.
ActivationControls
Specify either a foot control valve or infrared activation
as a standard selection (see the Standard Selection stable on page W-C/12).
Foot
Control Valve : Each press of the foot rail mechanically actuates a hold-open
valve, with slow closing upon release of foot pressure.

Activation
Controls (continued)
Infrared Control:Hands placed within the washfountain
bowl are detected by an infrared sensor module which activates a flow of tempered water
from the non-sectional sprayhead. Shut-off is automatic after hands are removed from the
detection area.
The sensor module uses two zone-focused infrared
transmitting beamseach creating a detection area not exceeding the bowl perimeter.
The detection range projects 69 inches forward at a 30°angle to each side, and
reaches 15°below horizontal. The infrared sensor is not affected by varying color tones
or darkness. Direct sunlight or bright washroom lights (up to 10,000 ft. candles) will not
activate the system. models also include a solenoid and low voltage transformer as
standard equipment:
- Solenoid24V, 50/60 Hz, 3/8" NPT. Few
moving parts, and resistant to most chemicals and minerals in municipal water.
- Low Voltage TransformerClass II, 110/24 VAC
plug-in transformer. Location of transformer per local electrical code.
