Specifications

Size and Capacity

Accommodates 1–2 users at a time, using less water, energy, and space than two lavs equipped with conventional faucets. The stainless steel sprayhead is actuated by one of two pushbut-tons (Model 2209AST) or by one of two infrared sensors (Model 2211AZ). Flow restrictor keeps flow rate constant at 0.70 GPM for all pressures. Operating range is 20–100 PSI.

Bowl Assembly

Sprayhead, bowl, backsplash, access panel, and trap cover con-structed of heavy gauge type 304 stainless steel. All exposed stainless steel surfaces are polished to a #4 satin finish. BradMate washfountains are shipped preassembled. Trap, enclosure, and flexible supply hoses are included with BradMates for connection during installation.

Vandal Resistance

The stainless steel sprayhead and pushbuttons are secured to the bowl from inside the washfountain. All valves, sensors, and supplies and waste connections are safely concealed inside the washfountain. The heavy gauge stainless steel trap enclosure and access panel are removable only with a hex key. Sprayhead cover attached with vandal-resistant fastener.

Barrier-Free (ADA compliant)

BradMate washfountains are designed to comply with all ADA guidelines on reaches, clearances, and operation when mounted at the proper height by the installer (see BradMate rough-in instructions for exact mounting and rough-in dimensions).

Standard Equipment

Valves and Fittings

In addition to the bowl assembly and trap enclosure, the following valves and fittings are standard: Vernatherm™ thermo-static mixing valve, flexible stainless steel supply hoses, trap, check stops and strainers. Stop valves are 1/2" NPT female.

Activation Controls

Air Valve Control (Model 2209AST)

Each pushbutton actuates a common non-hold-open air single temperature valve with field adjustable timing of 0–60 seconds. Factory set at 10 seconds. Either of the two pushbuttons actuates a single valve which, in turn, activates the non-sectionally controlled sprayhead.

Infrared Control (Model 2211AZ)

Each of the two spray nozzles is controlled by a seperate sole-noid valve. Hands placed within the washfountain bowl are detected by an infrared sensor module which activates a flow of tempered water from one spray nozzle. Shut-off is automatic after hands are removed from the detection area. The sensor module uses two zone-focused infrared transmit-ting beams—each creating a detection area not exceeding the bowl perimeter. The detection range projects 6–9 inches for-ward at a 30° angle to each side, and reaches 15° below hori-zontal. The infrared sensor is not affected by varying color tones or darkness. Direct sunlight or bright washroom lights (up to 10,000 ft. candles) will not activate the system. Model 2211AZ also includes a solenoid and low voltage transformer as standard equipment:

  • Solenoid—24V, 50/60 Hz, 3/8" NPT. Few moving parts, and resistant to most chemicals and minerals in municipal water.
  • Low Voltage Transformer—Class II, 110/24 VAC plug-in transformer. Location of transformer per local electrical code.
