ENERGY SAVINGS

Most roof systems intend to save energy. However, few actually do so without causing problems. For example, when thicker insulation is used on conventional built-up roofs, fuel bills may be reduced, but the additional insulation may also speedup the inevitable deterioration of the roof surface.

Because the MR-24 roof system is metal and moves freely with the forces of expansion and contraction, additional insulation thickness will not cause roof deterioration.

The MR-24 roof system can be installed with special thermal blocks to eliminate thermal short circuits

Also, when metal roofs are installed, insulation is often crushed at points where the roof is fastened to the structural members. At these points, a thermal short circuit is created. The MR-24 roof system utilizes special thermal blocks to rectify this problem.

WIND UPLIFT

As winds blow over the roof of a building, a suction is created which exerts an upward force called wind uplift. Tested in accordance with the Corps of Engineers and the CEGS 07416/ASTM E 1592 tests, the MR-24 roof system carries the highest wind uplift ratings (Class 90) awarded by Underwriters Laboratories. It has been fully tested and approved by the Factory Mutual Research Corporation as a Class 1 panel roof, and is available with windstorm classifications 1-60, 1-90 and 1-120.

These ratings may result in lower insurance premiums for your new building. The MR-24 roof system can be installed with special thermal blocks to eliminate thermal short circuits.
