Carboline Protective Coatings & Linings - Page 14

Acrylics

Industrial Use, Water Borne Materials

For many years acrylic based coatings were used primarily in the commercial and residential market as thin film (1-3 mil) products for decorative finishes or topcoats. The need to lower VOC, and to develop easier to use High Performance coatings pushed the development of Industrial Grade Acrylics. These products, like many of there ancestors are water borne, thin film and typically have excellent resistance to exterior weathering. New technology has added chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, color stability, corrosion resistance, film build (10 mils in some cases) and cleanability.

Carboline's industrial acrylics have been used to coat items as diverse as the interior of Nuclear Power plants, and the exterior of Sulfuric Acid railroad cars, all the way to kitchen cabinets, bridges, tanks, buildings, equipment, and fire hydrants.
