INSTALLATION

SURE-DRAIN and TOTAL-DRAIN products can be attached to CCW waterproofing membranes with double sided adhesive tape or construction adhesives. Discuss material compatibility with Carlisle representatives before using adhesives.

Install the TOTAL-DRAIN section first, with the thinner transition section  up and the geotextile filter fabric out. carefully seal all joints, corners and transitions to drainage system discharge pipes immediately to prevent soil from entering the system.

If weep holes or discharge pipes in the wall are used instead of a drain pipe, cut a hole in the core at these locations; do not cut fabric. On the soil side of the drain, bridge the cutout area with a plate 4 to 6 inches larger than the cutout to prevent soil breakthrough.

Attach the next course of SURE-DRAIN Drainage Composite to the the transition section. Place the lower edge of next panel (edge without a flange) overlapping the flange of the previously installed panel. Overlap the fabric in the direction of the water flow.

Add additional sections of SURE-DRAIN Drainage Composite as required, working up the wall from the lowest section to the highest. Make all overlaps of core and fabric edges in a shingle fashion so that water flows in the same direction as the overlap. If necessary, use tape or spray adhesive to keep fabric in place prior to backfilling. To attach the end of a roll of drain to the beginning of the next, peel back filter fabric and overlap two rows of dimples. Press to interlock the panels, then pull the fabric back over the joint, overlapping both in the direction of expected water flow.

All terminating edges of the drainage composite should have extra fabric tucked behind core to seal the edge and prevent soil from entering the core.

If perimeter drainage only is required, TOTAL-DRAIN-P should be used. This version features the same drainage core as standard TOTAL-DRAIN, but with the filter fabric sealing both the top and bottom edges of the core. This prevents soil from entering the core when used as a  stand-alone section without SURE-DRAIN wall drainage composites
