Care of Cultured Marble |
Installer-Plumber: Please attach this information sheet
inside vanity door
Important Note: Hot water temperature
should not exceed 140.
Normal Care:
Clean with soap and water or a non-abrasive cleaner
such as: Gel Gloss Lysol Tub & Tile Cleaner, or Dow Bathroom Cleaner, etc.
Stain Removal:
Hard Water Scale & Rust: Use a mild vinegar and
water solution, followed by Gel Gloss.
Grease & Oil: Use kerosene or mineral spirits
rinse/wipe off with soap and water. Go over lightly with Gel Gloss.
Mold & Mildew: Use a diluted solution of bleach
or Lysol, rinse with soap and water. Never let pure bleach come into contact with cultured
marble.
Hair dye or Shoe polish: Use Gel Gloss.
Cigarette stains: Use an abrasive cleanser applied
with a toothbrush. Polish with polishing compound or Gel Gloss.
Minor surface scratches can be buffed out using the
polishing compound. Deeper scratches can be buffed out using the polishing compound.
Deeper scratches or burns require light sanding with a wet 600 grit sandpaper. Sand
lightly with a circular motion in as confined an area as possible. Wet area amply while
sanding. Buff with polishing compound.
Small chips can be repaired by applying clear nail polish.
Allow to dry completely, then follow the instructions for sanding out scratches.
Protect your cultured marble from bleach, peroxide,
Drano, Sani-flush, fingernail polish remover and polish, Comet, Ajax, Soft-Scrub or any
other abrasive-type cleaner.
