| INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR CENTURY
MARBLE & CENTURA SOLID SURFACING TUBS & WHIRLPOOLS When installing your Century or CENTURA tub/whirlpool it is
important to have the floor properly leveled and prepared.
Do not cut out more floor decking than necessary for drain
access and be certain to insulate and seal all openings to avoid
air filtration. Allow for warm air circulation around tub area, especially when installed
on an outside wall. When tub/whirlpool is installed near an outside wall, be
certain that the wall is DOUBLE INSULATED. This will help avoid contraction
and expansion of the material in weather extremes. (Be careful not to wrap insulation
around pump motor in - line heaters.) Frame skirting, shelves and ledges in a manner that
allows for proper access to plumbing and whirlpool pump.
Make certain that the tub bottom does not sit on any
foreign objects and that the floor surface is smooth and level. The tub bottom should be SET
INTO MORTAR BEDDING to achieve solid, level contact with floor surface. The
deck of the tub should be supported and held level around the perimeter by wall cleating
and upright framing. Install cleating at approx. 3/4" to 1" higher than
the bottom of the tub deck to allow for mortar bedding. However, the major portion of the
weight should be supported by the mortar bedding. Use shims to support the bottom of the
tub while mortar cures. Make sure that the tub bottom is making good contact with bedding.
Mfg. warranty is not applicable if tub lacks
proper insulation or if tub is not set in a mortar bedding.
