CENTURA® is non-porous so it is easily cleaned with a
damp cloth or Scotch-Brite pad using a mild abrasive cleanser such as "Soft Scrub
Cleaner" on the matte-finished counter tops.
A more abrasive cleanser such as "Comet", "Ajax"
or "Bar Keepers Friend" is recommended for cleaning CENTURA bowls.
Spills and stains such as coffee, tea and grape juice will not harm
CENTURA and are easily removed by abrasive cleaners.
Its matte appearance enables you to repair minor scratches and
scrapes by buffing lightly with an abrasive cleanser using a Scotch Brite pad or 320-350
grit (wet) sandpaper without appreciable change in surface appearance.
High-gloss Finishes
High-gloss finishes sometimes applied to CENTURA furniture pieces
(not recommended in kitchens) can be cleaned with a damp cloth or sponge and ordinary
liquid dish soaps. Do not use abrasive cleansers on high-gloss CENTURA furniture
finishes.
Precautions & Recommendations
Although minor scratches and damage can be repaired your CENTURA
counter top is not meant to be used as a cutting surface.
CENTURA withstands heat better than most other ordinary
surface materials however, hot pans directly from the oven or stove top and some
heat-generating appliances (such as electric frying pans, griddles and crock pots, etc.)
can damage the surface. Use an insulation pad to protect your counter top when using any
of these appliances.
In case of severe damage contact your fabricator or dealer. They
will have the experience and expertise to repair almost any damage likely to occur.
Note: Although CENTURA material is easily repaired,
wear will be more apparent on dark colors. This should be considered when choosing a color
for heavy use areas like kitchen counter tops.
CENTURA is backed by the factory and certified fabricator with a 12
year limited warranty or residential applications and a 1 year limited warranty on
commercial applications.
