When in Doubt

Kathy Haworth shows off her
Radiance-applied sun room.
In the new addition, her fireplace was moved into the sun
room and French doors were added to connect it to the living room and rest of the
house. Two beautiful 4-foot windows and a large 10-foot by 5-foot window spread
across the walls.
When building the sun room, energy-efficiency and keeping
the room warm enough were the main concerns. And that's when she remembered
Radiance.
"I originally saw something about an energy-saving
finish in the newspaper," Haworth continues. "Then it was a TV commercial.
Next on a Hardware Show Special on Home and Garden TV. Then the newspaper
again. I figured enough was enough; I had to try Radiance."
And try it she did.
"I put Radiance on the walls and it looked good,"
Haworth says. "And that's when I had my dinner party to show off the new room."
"After putting Radiance on my walls, I had about 15
people over for dinner in the sub room," Haworth says. "We had the fireplace on
for the first 15 minutes and then turned it off. The room stayed warm for the rest
of the night."
Looking forward to saving money on energy bills, Haworth
says, "I will definitely use it in other rooms."
Home is where the heart is, but, as Kathy Haworth found
out, it can be where the comfort is, too.
Radiance: Cure for the Common Cold
Green Bay Packer fans love the big freeze at Lambeau Field,
but you can bet it is nice and cozy at the Brown's Wisconsin residence this winter.
Fighting the winter chill is a daunting task, especially if
you call Wisconsin home. While most residents of the Midwest pride themselves on
tolerating - and sometimes even enjoying - sub-zero temperatures, paying high heating
bills still leaves them cold. After moving into a new home, Rick Brown of Oconomowac,
Wis., fought Old Man Winter the best way he knew how: Radiance low-e wall finish.
"I decided to give Radiance a try," Brown says.
"My wife, Robin, and I saw the commercial on television, as well as the Radiance
brochure, and were interested in saving energy. I bought four cans to test it
out."
And where better to test Radiance than the largest open
area in the house, the living and dining room?
"The living and dining room is on the second floor of
our three-level home and has the most open space." Brown continues. "I painted
all of the interior walls and ceilings myself. It looks good and my wife says that
the room feels warmer."
Good news for any homeowner about to enter the winter
season in a newly-purchased house. But Brown isn't stopping there.
"I plan to put it up in our hallways, as
well," Brown says. "Next, I'll apply it to other rooms around the
house. So far it works just like the brochure said it would."
Now, if they could only find a way to use Radiance at
Packers games...
